| CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
All classes (Intro, Led, Mysore) are contemporary Ashtanga Vinyasa as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India. www.ayri.org
Mysore
No experience necessary. Individual instruction is given as students learn and practice the full or partial Primary Series at their own pace. Questions may be asked and physical assistance is provided. New students* receive direct, individual instruction. IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO HAVE COMMITTED THE SEQUENCE TO MEMORY to attend a Mysore class. Students arrive and depart within the allotted time, as fits personal schedule. IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO STAY THE FULL CLASS TIME. Beginner practice is approximately 1 hour. Continuing students practice for approximately 1 ½ hours.
Led
A full -flowing, verbally-led Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series class (full or partial). Led class emphasizes breath and steady continuous movement called Vinyasa. Stamina, strength, flexibility, balance and coordination will be challenged. Quick questions may be addressed.
*New students with some yoga experience may begin with either Mysore or Led class. New students with no yoga experience should begin with Mysore class where individual instruction is available to bring the new student “up to speed” with the Led class. Chanting
No experience necessary. An ongoing exploration into the yoga of sound. Instruction in Sanskrit language and yoga philosophy through sustained chanting. The yoga sutras of Patanjali are emphasized.
Moon Days
As per Ashtanga Yoga tradition, Eugene School of Yoga (ESOY) is closed on Full and New Moon dates. Dates will be announced in class and posted.
